LimCha (林茶) Teahouse Cafe offers a calm retreat tucked away on the second level of a shophouse along East Coast Road. Accessible only by a staircase, this Singapore spot echoes the intimate, slightly tucked-away feel of traditional teahouses you might find in Taiwan’s Jiufen, giving the visit a small discovery vibe before you even sit down.

The atmosphere here leans into a cozy mix of classic and modern touches—think warm wooden accents paired with subtle contemporary design that invites you to slow down. It’s not a bustling hangout but rather a place suited for quieter moments, whether you’re meeting a friend for a chat or settling in to enjoy a book. The steep stairs and snug layout mean it might not be the spot for large groups, but it fits perfectly for anyone looking to escape the street-level rush.

LimCha's focus is on presenting a thoughtfully curated range of premium Chaozhou-style tea leaves, particularly Dancong varieties. Service tends to be attentive and personable, with staff and sometimes the owner himself taking time to share stories about the teas and guide you to selections you might not encounter elsewhere, adding to the experience rather than just serving a drink.

The drink menu stands out for its fresh, nuanced flavors distinct from typical bubble tea chains—expect fragrant longan teas, creamy milk teas, and unusual fusions like orchid vanilla cold tea. These are best savored slowly to pick up the rare aftertastes and subtle floral notes. Tea is best enjoyed during the mid-morning or late afternoon lull when the cafe’s relaxed pace is fully felt.

Complementing the teas are snacks like muah chee and peanut tangyuan, which offer soft and chewy textures that feel authentic rather than overly sweet or gimmicky. While not every dessert item scores equally, these traditional bites enhance the overall ritual of tea drinking here.

A small but memorable detail is the option to take home a tiny teapot as a souvenir, which adds personality and encourages a return visit or sharing the experience with others at home.

Those who appreciate heritage tea culture, prefer less commercialized spaces, and enjoy quieter daytime spots away from typical café crowds will find LimCha a comfortable, rooted choice on the East Coast stretch. It’s a place where conversation and mindful sipping come before loud music or quick turnovers.

LimCha is a true hidden gem! This teahouse cafe offers a wonderfully cozy atmosphere and a super relaxing vibe once you climb the stairs (it's staircase access only). The charming decor makes it feel so inviting. Staff were incredibly friendly, and their unique desserts were delightful. I especially loved the interesting names of their tea leaves, making the whole experience special. Highly recommend for a peaceful escape!

It is a nice quaint tea shop parked along the stretch of the I12 junction Greeted by the owner himself to tell us of an amazing tea experience coming our way! Ordered the muah Chee and the orchid vanilla cold tea! And boy were we not disappointed! This was one of the best tea experiences we ever had! The tea was both fresh and refreshing! Each sip had an aftertaste that was very rare and very sweet for a drink that didn’t add much shaven Every sip with their special straw had us wanting for more! Their hand made muah chee was so smooth and chewy! It was one of, if not the best bites of muah chee I have ever had! Their sesame and peanut filling were very rich and light! Each bite has us wanting to drink the tea, and it was a perfect match! The owner was very kind and knowledgeable and shared with us the tea experience and the history of the Dan Cong tea! I will highly recommend anyone and everyone to come down and give this tea house a try! Truly an amazing experience to enjoy such premium tea and amazing quality hand made food for affordable prices!

Reminds me a lot of the teahouses in Taiwan 九分老街. even the staircase with steep steps brings me back to teahouses in 九分. Service is very good with explanation of the variety of tea leaves from chaozhou. Both the milk tea and longan tea was fragrant and it's really something that you can never get at the usual bbt places. The muah chi always soft and chewy very nice texture without sticking to the teeth. 豆花dessert is not bad even though I can't say it's the best I've had. All in all, very nice discovery here and probably the only one of it's kind in Singapore.

LimCha Teahouse Cafe: A Modern Twist on Teochew Tea Culture! 4 out of 5 Stars Ratings: • Tea: 5/5 (Vivid and enjoyable premium Dancong teas) • Ambiance: 4.5/5 (Cozy blend of traditional and modern aesthetics) • Service: 4/5 (Good recommendations and service) • Food (excluding tea): 3.5/5 (Peanut Tangyuan good; other items mixed) • Value: 3.5/5 (Milk Grass Jelly could be priced lower) • Overall: 4/5 Donkey and I decided to check out LimCha Teahouse Cafe after I saw it advertised on Facebook. We wanted to see their take on blending traditional Teochew tea culture with a modern cafe setting. The venue blends traditional and modern aesthetics with natural materials, muted colors, wooden tables, stools, and benches. Decorative architectural details line the ceiling and walls. Warm lighting creates a cozy and inviting ambiance in a tea-centric atmosphere. The highlight of LimCha is their teas, with five varieties of premium Dancong teas. We ordered the Longan Ya Shi Xiang and Orchid Vanilla Dancong without sugar and found the tea flavor vivid and enjoyable served cold. As for the food, the peanut Yin Yang Tangyuan was nice, and I especially liked them. However, the chicken floss cake, while nice, didn't wow us. The milk grass jelly, which is only available on SG60 period, was good but could have been priced lower. The herbal tea egg is also nice as it fully absorbed the herbal tea taste. The roasted peanuts were okay but preferred the "Thumbs up" peanuts. As a bonus, spending $60 or more gets you a free box of complimentary chocolates that have different flavors. The dishes we ordered were recommended by the Lady Boss, and the staff provided good service. Overall, this place is a nice place to chill out, but be aware that it can get crowded with limited space. Although we didn't participate in the Mid-Autumn Special or the Chaozhou Learning Journey, we learned that there are things you should prebook. Overall, LimCha is worth a visit if you're looking for a unique tea experience.

The interior is tastefully designed with a peaceful, calming ambience that makes it a great spot to relax. The drinks were enjoyable, and while the cake was decent, it didn’t stand out. A thoughtful touch was being allowed to take the small teapot home as a souvenir — a charming and memorable gesture. The staff were friendly and prompt with service — kudos to them for their professionalism. Overall, a pleasant experience. Recommended!

Very thoughtful tea place. Can tell the team knows and love their high altitude Dan Chong tea. Nested on level 2. Loved their Dan Chong Cha Ye Dan. The team added to the fragrance of the tea by their welcoming hospitality! The cold tea series are amazing too with delicious cheese cream that’s great on hot weather. Grateful that there’re still ppl in Singapore who has such passion and aptitude!

Lovely, relaxing environment with friendly staff. Food: Good selection of snacks and well-controlled sugar levels (not too sweet). One of the staff/owner kindly brought us through the tea making process and explained the different steps and the reasons behind them. The teas are of good quality with no artificial scents. Location: Shop is located on the 2nd level with a flight of steep stairs. Ok for kids but may be challenging for anyone who requires mobility aids. Toilets: Clean and dry. Staff: Friendly, helpful and informative. Slightly on the pricey side but food and teas are of good quality. We will be back.

Stumbled upon this small, chill café on level two, and it turned out to be such a relaxing spot. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the aroma of different Chinese tea leaves - and the best part is, you can actually smell and explore the various teas before deciding what to buy. It makes the whole experience feel a lot more personal and fun. They serve tea the traditional way too, with proper teapots and small teacups if you prefer a classic tea session. But if you just want something simple, they also have the usual hot and cold tea options. Nice variety for both tea lovers and casual drinkers. Besides tea, they offer a few light snacks like nuts, cakes, and even herbal eggs - perfect to munch on while sipping your tea. The atmosphere is peaceful and unhurried, making it a great place to take a break or just chill for a bit. Really enjoyed the experience here. Will definitely return again!
